DECEMBER 2005

If anyone really wants to know what's going on in my life....pick up a logitech webcam at your local electronic store for a few bucks, go to www.helloworld.com/shawn8, sign up as a customer, and we can talk about you, me, music, kids, dogs, etc. unlimited face to face!!!!

JUNE 2005

The last six months or so have been busier than it seems!

I have been featured on the Ryff Radio Show on www.allnewmusic.net which is a world wide internet radio network you should check out. Jay Mack is the man!

Speaking of world wide stuff....got to do "live" tv with John on "the Attack of the Show" on G4TV. 50 million households get it and we got to play two songs! Head over to www.g4tv.com to check it out.

Had writing sessions with a singer named Lauren (ex-Playboy bunny!) who is doing a developement deal with Universal. They start recording in LA in late July and it looks like I'll have three songs on her new cd. Also wrote and produced songs for a new country artist for Capitol named Todd Wolter.

Been playing more in LA this year than the last two years combined and had great shows at the Mint on Pico and the Cocaine in downtown Los Angeles. A big thanks to everyone that's been coming out.

My song "D minor" was featured in an indie film w/ Erin Gray (the hot chick from Buck Rogers) called "Sirens" that has me performing it on screen as well as the song placement....you know how I love to double dip!

I was also cast for a scene in Drew Barrymore's new film "Lucky You"  and am working on getting a song placed in that as well. Wish me luck (no pun intended!).

I got to do a scene in "Oceans 12" and have really been interestd more in film, etc. along with my music. They seem to go hand-in-hand and Vegas is definitely the place to be with all the shows/movies being filmed here on a daily basis.

In the meantime....I've been playing drums in a classic rock band called OLD SCHOOL that features a 14 year old guitarist that makes every seasoned pro I know look like rookies! His name is Chris Iorio and he is simply amazing!!! We play all the great Van Halen, Boston, Journey, etc. and he plays the stuff not for note....it's a "must see." The bass player (Anthony Bronsdon) is incredible and the singer (Vince Guarnere) has pipes like the organ in the Vatican!

Still a full-time Dad/part-time Musician and loving every minute of it! The kids are great. My girlfriend (Dianne) took my place over at NY, NY as the DJ in their night club and is making heads turn and asses shake every Friday and Saturday night starting at midnight....go say "hi"!!!!

DECEMBER 2004

Margaritaville, The House of Blues, and The Guitar Bar are all cutting back and have given me the rest of my life off!!!! The new year should be really "NEW." Hopefully I'll land back on my feet and playing steady, but for now I'm DJing at New York, New York's Club on Friday's and Saturday's at Midnight and although my bank account hates the change of pace...my throat loves it! I was in desperate need of a vocal break and ironically, this has provided it.
Everything else is great...kids, PONDER, etc. Hope you have an awsome Holiday season! Happy Hanukkah, Ho, Ho ,Ho, and all that stuff!!!

Musically,
Shawn "Vanilla Ife" Eiferman (my new DJ name!!???)

APRIL 2004

Bought a new house! Signed a record deal with Statue Records out of L.A. with PONDER. The kids are great, the gigs are fun a few, and I'm still the luckiest guy I know!

Found a place in South Las Vegas close to the strip, gated community in a two story 2,500sq.feet, w/ a pool, spa, tennis, basketball, park for the kids and a putting green! My gipsy days are over and the Eiferman residence is finally established. It feels great to be grounded like this.

The majority of my focus musically has definitely shifted over to PONDER. I've been colaborating on new material with John on a daily basis and we have enough written for two more cds! We have a Paul and John, Mick and Kieth, John and Ritchie one/two punch thing happening that is really been productive, exciting, and challenging. Can't wait to get into the studio and really record some stuff!

Can't believe the kids are both in school and getting straight A's and playing soccer and baseball, etc. Staying healthy and happy and suprising me on a daily basis with how amazing they are as people! Truly inspiring in every way!!!!!

Thanks again for all the support! Without people like you showing interest in my music, I couldn't do what I love for a living and spend the time I spend with my kids and for that I am eternally grateful.

 FEBRUARY 2004

I lost access to the site and couldn't update anything in all this time! It's all good now and I'll try and give you all the goodies in Cliff's Notes bullet point versions!!! No news is good news in this case though...I've just been doing a bunch of the same really....strummin' my guitar and singin' my songs!

The new band is doing really well though! New cd, lots of shows, nothing but blue skies and potential to really make 2004 a good one for the band. Still writing, still playing a lot of shows.....Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville inside the Flamingo has become an awsome new home and I play every weekend on the third floor patio there to a bunch of drunk naked Parrotheads!

Gonna be opening for Seal on Valentine's Day at Green Valley Ranch!!!!!!

OCTOBER 2003

My new band PONDER has been writing and recording and has finished up our 11 song cd. It's called "think about it" and features a mix of John's, Matt's, and my songwriting, Beau beatin' on the drums with three part harmonies, and a little bit of something for everybody! We've been told we sound like Foo Fighters meets Sugar Ray meets Live and the cd release party at Sunset Station's Club Madrid with RAYGUNRIOT went very well on October 3rd. I'd like to thank you all for coming on behalf of the rest of the band!

WWW.PONDERTHEBAND.COM is up and running and we will be opening for the Burden Brothers (lead singer for the Toadies new band) at the Boston here in Vegas on the 18th of October at 10pm and then doing a one hour set at Mix 94.1's Bite of Las Vegas sharing the stage with local hero....Franky Perez along with Macy Gray, Uncle Cracker, etc. on October 25th at 3pm at Desert Breeze Park. Should be awsome!!!!!!
The Guitar Bar is back up and running at Adobe Gilas inside Sunset Station on Thursdays from 8pm-12mid for all you open mic freaks! Come get your 15 minutes of fame every week!

Kids are great, gigs are going well, healthy(aside from having my tonsils pulled out), happy and still feel like the luckiest guy I know thanks to you fine folks and your support!!!!

See ya at a show.....speaking of shows; I have been asked to entertain the troops on weekends at the new Margaritaville inside the Flamingo starting on December 12th. Details to be announced. Keep checking back!

Shawn

May 2003

Summer is creeping up and I'm looking forward to it more than ever. The kids and I are planning another RV trip to the coast and I am trying to get some dates booked in the Southern California area to get a change of scenery and spread the word to a new set of recruits! There is a cool venue in Calabasas called the Sage Brush Cantina that seems to be a perfect second home and as soon as I nail the dates down it'll be road trip time baby!!!!!

I wanted to thank everyone's support, prayers, and concern for the surgery I had last week. The procedure went very well and I will be better than new in about a week. The septum is straight and the polyp was removed (infected but not cancerous) and I can breathe better now than I have been able to in over a decade!!!!!!

The Cannery and Rampart Guitar Bars have evolved into the biggest open mics in the country and I have to thank all the supporters, both performers and spectators for making the whole thing a success.....you rock!

I have recently gone from no bands since the break up of Epstein's Mother to possibly being in two!!!! A great local rock band (names withheld to protect the guilty) has just lost a guitarist and would like me to step in and I have been rehearsing, writing, recording, and planning a new original project with all new members consisting of John Lomabardo who is a singer/songwriter who was signed back in the late 90's and had a publishing deal with Warner Chapel and is currently the lead in Tony and Tina's Italian Wedding over at the Rio. Matt Wood who is also a great writer and singer will be playing bass and singing as well and was with Mark Huff and the Inflatables for the last hundred and twenty years!!!!! Last but not least, the man that hits shit....Beau Doyle on drums who has been one of my best friends and percussive partner in crime since the dawn of time!!!! The band sounds like a cross between Foo Fighters, Sugar Ray, and the Replacements with a little bit of the Cars sprinkled in for fun with three lead singers and a kick ass, eclectic collection of songs from all three of us to offer up a little bit of something for everybody. We should be ready for mass consumption by mid-summer and I'm really exited to be with a group again.

See you at a show.....
Shawn

Mar. 2003

Starting April 2nd the new Cannery Hotel and Casino off Craig Road and I-15 will be the new host of the Guitar Bar every Wednesday night from 7-11pm at inside the Club! This is a full concert hall and will have full backline provided by Guitar Center consisting of drums, keys, amps, etc. The Rampart was such a successful change in venues from the old Fiesta that we had to move it to a larger room and make the Rampart in Summerlin an "unplugged" venue to accommodate all the acoustic freaks. The Rampart will continue to have the KKLZ Garage Sessions on Thursday nights from 7-11pm and add the Cannery location to their Wednesday night schedule also from 7-11pm to accommodate all the electric freaks who want to plug it all in, crank it all up, and play like it's Madison Square Garden!!! To recap....Wednesday nights from 7-11pm at the Cannery will be the Electric Guitar Bar where full bands can get up and jam and Thursday nights from 7-11pm the Acoustic Guitar Bar will be at the Rampart in Summerlin.

Review from City Life magazine 3/03

Local singer/songwriter Shawn Eiferman is a beacon of light in the dismal Las Vegas local music scene. Rather than turning up his amp so loud structure foundations shatter and screaming at the top of his lungs with a bunch of his buddies screaming at the top of their lungs, he¼s gone the high road and chosen to go it alone ‚ acoustic. Just the fact that he has enough balls to do this is worthy of commending. Talentless rap/rock punk would rather take a stage dive into concrete than make the acoustic plunge. Eiferman¼s release, Misunderstood, isn¼t limited by the one-guy-on-an-acoustic-guitar format. The record ranges from sweet and lovey to bold and lashing. He even plugs in once in a while. And for as minimal as the instrumentation is, the result sounds surprisingly full. Eiferman¼s lyrics are on the simple side, but what he lacks in complexity he makes up for with soul. There are no dreary-pissed-off-at-the-world songs, but you can tell Eiferman spills his heart and soul out onto the album. Even the rockier stuff is soothing. He has the kind of voice you would want to sing you to sleep every night. One of the more interesting tracks, „D Minor¾ (which is actually done in E minor), speaks to other songwriters out there, making reference to the saddest cord on the circle. Another thing musicians will pick up on immediately is the nod to Jimi Hendrix on the eighth track, „Strat.¾ Owning Misunderstood is like owning a little slice of the Las Vegas music scene. Besides Eiferman, other members of the now defunct Epstein¼s Mother are featured on the album. Christian Brady plays guitar and sings backup on the track he wrote with Eiferman, „Remedy.¾ Geoff Neuman and Chris Morrison also appear on the record. The packaging and recording of this CD are extremely professional for a local act. The cute little misunderstood man on the front and inside cover is Eiferman ‚ he¼s five years old, drunk at a Jewish wedding. How precious is that? The most marketable track on the album (although any one of them could be slipped on 94.1-FM between Hootie and the Blowfish and Matchbox 20) is track 17, „Gone.¾ It was featured in an indie film called White Boy, and then it was slated to appear on the slightly more popular Spiderman soundtrack. It was cut from the final version, but Eiferman still didn¼t have the rights to list it on another album. That¼s why it¼s on Misunderstood ” unlisted. Shawn Eiferman opens for Stephen Lynch at the House of Blues Crossroads room March 15 at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $12. For more information, call 702-632-7600. He also hosts an open mic at the Guitar Bar in Rampart Casino every Sunday through Thursday from 7 p.m. until 11 p.m.

Feb. 2003

"All good things must come to an end!"....the Fiesta Henderson has decided to turn the Guitar Bar into the patio dining section of the new mexican place looking to open in May! Buenos dias baby....we're going to Summerlin!!!!!! The new Rampart Casino in Summerlin has agreed to pair up with myself and Guitar Center to continue the Guitar Bar format inside Addison's. The room is totally awsome with great sound, lights, cushy Gucci seats, great drink prices, etc. I couldn't be happier and all the people who come out to enjoy the festivities (every Thursday night from 7-11pm starting March 6th) are gonna love the new location....I promise!
This also frees me up to gig on Fridays and Saturdays....so to keep up with Joneses and feed my kids, I will be booking more shows on the weekends around town doing solo shows, as well as with my close friend and percussionist Beau Doyle (affectionately called the Shawn and Beau Show.) I will also be hitting the road to spread the word outside the valley. I have Frisco, Lubbock-Texas, and Seattle already in the works and will probably hit one state a month (preferably college bookings) to keep up relations and recruit new believers around he country.
Writing a lot and spending a ton of time with my kids....strumming my guitar and singing my songs and couldn't be happier or feel any luckier!!!!! Thanks for the support and allowing me to do what I love for a living. It's greatly appreciated!

nuthin' but luv,

Shawn

Nov. 2002

The year has flown by! The holidays are upon us and it's time to buy dozens of copies of my cd for stocking stuffers!!!!! C'mon, everyone's doin' it (peer pressure)......
Time does fly when you're having fun and I have had a blast this year! I took my winter trip with the kids to frolic in the snow in Utah recently and had the time of my life making snow angels, having world class popcorn fights inside and epic snowball fights outside, sledding, hiking, a veritable plethora of snow men creations, etc. Trust me, a good time was had by all.

Musically, I have been writing! "paradigms" and "who am I" are two newer tunes that made it on UNLV TV's Totally Banned in Vegas show recently. It airs on Tuesdays at 7:30pm and Sundays at 10pm on Chan. 70 for a month or so! And I hope to have enough material compiled by Summer for another cd????

Speaking of cd's....I am honored to mention that I was asked to arrange and record a Christmas song for this year's "A Las Vegas Christmas" cd. It's a charity project that benefits AFAN and I stretched out a bit and played all the instruments on a different little version of Santa Clause is Coming to Town.....ho, ho ,ho! The whole cd is awesome and goes well with my stocking stuffer concept!!!!! You can got to WWW.LASMUSICGROUP.COM for all the 411.

The Shawn and Beau show featuring the percussive madman (Beau Doyle) and myself have been busy spreading my misunderstood music and words to the masses more and more. The response has been global!!!! As the world's most powerful acoustic duo...we opened for the largest selling, most popular Japanese pop group of all time (Dreams Come True) last month at the House of Blues here in Vegas and they want us to go on tour with them in Japan in March of next year as their steady opening act. SANK YU!!!!!!!! Keep your fingers crossed and I'll keep you posted?

Other than that......I am just strummin' my guitar and singin' my songs and lovin' every minute of! I hope this finds you happy and healthy!

Happy Holidays,

SHAWN

July 5th

I can't believe I let this much time pass since my last update, sorry! Lots has been happening though.....

I've recorded " Santa Claus is Coming to Town" for this years charity cd...A Las Vegas Christmas, I got to sit next to Peter Frampton at lunch the other day at the Paris Hotel, and signed on for another year at both the House of Blues and the Guitar Bar at the Fiesta.

Just yesterday I played four shows including a festival with Greg Rollie (original keyboardist/singer for Journey), and also a big 4th of July thing with Starship! The Crown and Anchor shows that Beau and I have been doing have been so fun and successful that they have asked us to came back and play the last Saturday of every month...mark your calendar!

Speaking of your calendars...AUGUST 31st will be a day that goes down in infamy!!! I am am co-producing my first big concert with national headliners, sponsors, vendors, etc. The show is called Acousticpalooza and will be at Sunset Station Ampitheatre. We'll get things started late morning/ early afternoon and the day will be filled with local artists, bands from Denver and LA, as well as Grammy award winner Shawn Mullins and other big names to be announced for only $10 per ticket! We are in the middle of securing the other headliners! You can go to WWW.ACOUSTICPALOOZA.COM for updates, etc. Hope to see you there...

On a personal note, I took the greatest vacation of my life recently when I left Father's Day for five days in a rented 20foot RV with my kids. The three of us hit seven beaches in four days driving up the coast from San Diego and hit LegoLand for the fifth...I highly recommend it to anyone with kids under 12. The rides were great and my kids will be talking about it for years to come. As for me , I highly recommend the RV vacation as we will be going East every Winter to frolic in the snow now and West every Summer to relive this last trip...the Griswald's don't have sh#t on us!!!!!

I have been getting a lot of love, kudos, and support lately in regards to my music, lyrics, and lifestyle and I just wanted to say thank you to all of you in my life on all levels. You have made me feel very lucky and privileged to be doing what I do and I hope I can continue for years to come...

rock on...see you at a show!

April 4th

I hope you didn't get dooped too badly on April Fools this year...I have had my moments and decided to take it easy on everyone this year as I landed a friend in jail last year! Long story!!!! Anyways...

I will be opening for Dishwalla this Saturday at the Sam Boyd Silver Bowl for MIX 94.1 fm's Petapalooza! I go on at 3pm and the entire event is free!!!! So bring your family and pets out to the show this weekend (Dishwalla goes on at 4pm).

My good friend and percussive stylist Beau Doyle will be banging on things with me at the Crown and Anchor on Tropicana/Maryland the next Saturday (April 13th) at 10pm playing two one hour sets of all original tunes while we all get drunk and naked on dark warm beer!!!! Don't miss that kinda fun!!! Three bucks gets you in and we have a special guest act playing inbetween sets???? I know...the anticipation is killing you! It's 21+ so get your fake ID polished up and memorize your zip code.

I was lucky enough to get to open for the Goo Goo Dolls recently over at the Palms and a critic from a new online magazine did a feature on the show...check out www.musicalgauntlet.com for the most indepth interview I have ever done!!!!

That's about it...I hope this finds you healthy and happy! See ya at a show...

rock on,
Shawn

p.s.
I don't usually pass on sad news like this, but sometimes we need to pause and remember what life is all about.
There was a Great loss recently. Larry LaPrise, who wrote the song "Hokey Pokey," died this week at age 83. It was extremely difficult for the family to keep him in the casket. They'd put his left leg in and.......well, you know the rest!!!!!!

March 8th

Well it's been an up and down month or so...I got to open for the Goo Goo Dolls at the Palms here in Vegas and Nils Lofgren at the Fiesta as well. My father passed away after almost three years of suffering with heart problems and my daughter is officially an "honor student" for the first time! Talk about a rollercoaster ride!!!
I want to thank everybody for the support I've received with all of the above. It was like 2,000 drunk friends singing, yelling, and clapping at the Palms and I have had people contacting me about my father's passing from Turkey, Germany, Spain, etc. as well as all over the country...your kind words and thoughts are greatly appreciated.
I have started a songwriting session at the Guitar Bar on Wednesdays from 6-8pm that I call "whose song is it anyways?" It is a combination of the songwriting groups that get together in basements and garages to collaborate on songs in the round and the improvisational interactive approach of the show, "whose line is it anyways." Audience members will pick the genre of the song to be created along with the topic, etc. and then we will ping pong ideas, licks, lyric, etc. until the song is complete. Come out to see what happens...some will be funny, some will be heart felt, some will be terrible, and some could be the next #1 hit!!!! Crazier things have happened and the songs will all be published and protected so if any of them go anywhere (tv, film, radio)... 100% of the proceeds will go to the Make a Wish Foundation.
Last on the list is a new compilation cd I have been selected to be apart of. It's called "Band Together" and was produced by Mars Music to benefit the relief efforts going on in NY. I am honored and flattered to say that I am on this cd with Peter Frampton, Seven Mary Three, Chris Barron (the lead singer for the Spin Doctors), Eric Johnson, etc. It is a great cd that I am very happy to be a part of. Get to your nearest Mars Music and pick one up for the cause!
keep your chin up...
Shawn
January 13, 2002

Happy New Year to you and your peeps! I hope it was safe, fun, and memorable.

I played every weekend with somebody new at the Fiesta. Ronny Montrose, then the next weekend with P.K. Lavengood (best guitar player on the planet!!!!). He is actually the guitarist for a South Jersey rockin' band called John Eddie who just got signed and I wish them all the luck in the world. Then last weekend I got to play with the guitarist for John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band. His name is Gary Gramalini and we had a blast playing "darkside" and "tender years" etc. A good time was had by all!!!

I wrote a song for the 9/11 attack victims that took off with the help of KKLZ 96.3 radio and Mars Music here in Vegas that I last heard has reportedly raised over $100,000 for the relief fund!!!! I would like to thank the radio station and Mars for their support and commitment. The song is called "find a way" and has also been chosen by Mars Music's record label for a compilation cd they are producing.

Every weekend I meet new people through my music and remind myself that I am living a dream being able to do what I love for a living and spend the time with these people and my family in the best city in the world!!!! I look forward to seeing you all in 2002 and hope you keep those chins up!

-work like you don't need the money, dance like nobodies watching, and love like you've never been hurt... Shawn

December 20, 2001

Shawn has locked into a set gig schedule four nights a week and is setting himself on cruise control after the break up of the band. Time with his kids, basketball four days a week, and a cruise to Mexico are the only deviations, but he has accomplished a few things in the past few months that you might not know about.....

Shawn is the new host of N'Side Track. It's a TV show that will showcase bands and musician's from all over and will start shooting the first two episodes in early 2002. Check out www.n-sidetrack.com for more info on the show.

33,000 applicants entered the USA songwriting competition worldwide and Shawn won 1st place in the rock category and 2nd place over all!!!!! Results and other info can be found on www.songwriting.net

Well, we should keep our audience wanting more so you will have to check out the site on the first of the month to see what new developments have come about or come out and see Shawn live to shoot the poop!

Watch for more updates!
